यत्र यत्र स्थिता विद्या सा सा कालिका स्मृता।
yatra yatra sthitā vidyā sā sā kālikā smṛtā |
"Wherever each Vidya is established, that is remembered as Kalika (Kali) herself."³

सर्वविद्यास्वरूपा च सर्वविद्यास्वरूपिणी।
दशधा स्थितिरूपेण कालिका परिकीर्तिता॥
sarvavidyāsvarūpā ca sarvavidyāsvarūpiṇī |
daśadhā sthitirūpeṇa kālikā parikīrtitā ||
"She is the essence of all wisdoms, the embodiment of all knowledge. Kali is proclaimed as manifested in tenfold form."⁴

Wherever there is a pressing issue in your life, a fear or block, a yearning or challenge there you will also find Kali, in one of her ten forms, ready to answer with wisdom and power through the vehicle of prayoga.

Revealing the Solution for ANY Situation

Why do these forms exist? The Kalika Purana and Kali Tantra teach that when Sati, a form of Kali, was met by resistance and judgment from family and fate, her divine rage became luminosity in the ten directions were filled with ten powers, surrounding every form of limitation and dissolving it.⁵

काली कोपाद् दशधा व्यभवत्। दशदिक्षु दशविग्रहाः प्रादुर्भूताः। ताः महाविद्याः कालिकायाः स्वरूपाणि।
kālī kopād daśadhā vyabhavat | daśadikṣu daśavigrahāḥ prādurbhūtāḥ | tāḥ mahāvidyāḥ kālikāyāḥ svarūpāṇi |
"From Kali's anger, ten forms manifested in the ten directions. These are the Mahavidyas, the own-forms of Kalika."⁶

sarvabhakṣiṇī sarvasṛṣṭikartrī ca |
yā sādhayati taṃ muktvā sarvabandhanāt kālasya vaśāt ||
"Kali is Time itself, supreme power, the devourer and creator of all. She liberates her devotee from all bondage and the control of time."⁷

kālikāyāḥ svasā nīlā sarvasiddhipradāyinī ||
"Tara saves her devotees from the ocean of worldly existence. She is Kalika's blue sister who grants all accomplishments."⁸

षोडशी कालिकारूपा त्रिपुरा सर्वमङ्गला।
श्रीचक्रस्था महाकाली आनन्दमयरूपिणी॥
ṣoḍaśī kālikārūpā tripurā sarvamaṅgalā |

śrīcakrasthā mahākālī ānandamayarūpiṇī ||
"Shodashi is Kalika's form, Tripura the all-auspicious, Mahakali dwelling in the Sri Chakra, embodiment of bliss."⁹

Bhuvaneshvari: Kali as Cosmic Queen

Bhuvaneshvari, Kali's power as the Queen of All Worlds makes space sacred wherever you are.

भुवनेश्वरी जगन्माता कालिकामहिषासिनी।
माया महेश्वरी शक्तिः सृष्टिस्थित्यन्तकारिणी॥
bhuvaneśvarī jaganmātā kālikāmahiṣāsinī |

māyā maheśvarī śaktiḥ sṛṣṭisthityantakāriṇī ||
"Bhuvaneshvari, Mother of the World, seated on Kalika's throne, the maya-power of Maheshvara, cause of creation, preservation, and dissolution."¹⁰

भैरवी भीमरूपा च कालिकारूपधारिणी।
त्रिपुरा सर्वमन्त्राणां सिद्धिदा कालिकाप्रिया॥
bhairavī bhīmarūpā ca kālikārūpadhāriṇī |

tripurā sarvamantrāṇāṃ siddhidā kālikāpriyā ||
"Bhairavi in terrible form, bearing Kalika's own form, Tripura who grants siddhi to all mantras, beloved of Kalika."¹¹

Chinnamasta: Kali's Self-Sacrifice

छिन्नमस्ता महाकाली प्रचण्डा चण्डिकाऽऽत्मिका।
स्वशिरश्छेदनेनैव कालिकाशक्तिदर्शिनी॥
chinnamastā mahākālī pracaṇḍā caṇḍikā''tmikā |

svaśiraśchedanaiva kālikāśaktidarśinī ||
"Chinnamasta, Mahakali herself, fierce manifestation of Chandika, through severing her own head reveals Kalika's power."¹²

Dhumavati: Kali's Void Aspect

धूमावती विधवारूपा कालिकाया परं रूपम्।
शून्यमध्यस्था सर्वनाशिन्या मोक्षप्रदा स्वयम्॥
dhūmāvatī vidhavārūpā kālikāyā paraṃ rūpam |

śūnyamadhyasthā sarvanāśinyā mokṣapradā svayam ||
"Dhumavati in widow form is Kalika's supreme aspect, dwelling in the void, destroyer of all, herself the giver of liberation."¹³

Bagalamukhi: Kali's Paralyzing Power

Bagalamukhi, Kali's commanding power, stops slander, gossip, and legal trouble dead in their tracks.

बगला कालिकाशक्तिः सर्वदुष्टस्तम्भनकरी।
शत्रुवाक्स्तम्भनविद्या कालिकाज्ञाप्रचारिणी॥
bagalā kālikāśaktiḥ sarvaduṣṭastambhanakarī |

śatruvākstambhanavidyā kālikājñāpracāriṇī ||
"Bagala, Kalika's power, paralyzer of all wicked ones, executor of Kalika's command."¹⁴

मातङ्गी कालिकावागी सर्वविद्याप्रदायिनी।
श्यामला कामिनीरूपा कालिकाप्रेमवल्लभा॥
mātaṅgī kālikāvāgī sarvavidyāpradāyinī |

śyāmalā kāminīrūpā kālikāpremavallabhā ||
"Matangi, the voice of Kalika, bestower of all knowledge, dark-complexioned and beautiful, the one beloved through Kalika's love and affection."

Kamala: Kali's Grace Manifest

कमला कालिकाप्रेमा पद्ममध्यस्थिता शुभा।
सर्वसम्पत्तिदायिन्या कालिकानुग्रहात्मिका॥
kamalā kālikāpremā padmamadhyasthitā śubhā |

sarvasampattidāyinyā kālikānugrahātmikā ||
"Kamala, embodiment of Kalika's love, bestower of all prosperity, the very grace (anugraha) of Kalika."¹⁶

yā pūjayet daśa vidyāḥ sā pūjayati kālikām |

yā veda kālikām devīm sā veda daśa vidyāḥ ||
She who worships the Ten Wisdoms is worshipping Kali.

She who knows the Goddess Kali, knows the Ten Wisdoms.¹⁸
